As a muslim, I don`t think there is anything wrong with Islam. If I believed there was something wrong, I wouldn`t be Muslim.
Of course, many people in the West hate Islam for religious and historical reasons. Islam is after all Christianity`s main competitor on the minds and hearts of men. And in order to defeat, or at least neutralize its perceived threat, some Christians have found it necessary to demonize it, vilify it, makes all kinds of canards and calumnies about it...all in the hope that people will hate it and kill its followers.
We are talking about a civiilzation that had issued its verdict on Islam many centuries ago, and the verdict was "guilty."
Indeed, much of western conception of Islam is mythical and idiotic, if only because these concepts are completely detached from reality.
Even today, we have millions of Americans who believe that Muslims worship a "God moon." This shocking ignorance is unfortunately so widespread, even in the media. |
