I have to commend Mr. Burston on this article. With the recent surge of anti-Islam sentiment that has only been fuelled by the West and some deranged people who do the most horrible things in the name of this thoughtful religion, it is refreshing that a platform has been provided for the true practitioners of this theology to put forth what the Quran does say. Although I`m not Muslim, I have cousins and friends who are, and I live in an Islamic country that retains much of its teachings while embracing modernity and the good from the West (Dubai). What I see in Islam is charitable behaviour, kindness, a commitment to living life in the purest of ways. I see a sense of community and good will. Sure, there are fanatics out there who distort just about anything that`s good for their own agendas. I`m eager to read the comments on this article. |
