Despite the desparate attempts by some writers to depict Islam as a violent religion while citing what took place in the last two days in Nablus as a proof, Islam is but a modified version to both Judaism and Christianity and is peaceful in core. Muslims are requested to take up arms only in defence of self and religion and as a muslim, I condemn the latest attacks of the Pope on Islam in as much as I condemn the ignorant (or purposeful by some) attacks against Christian churches in the West Bank.
Palestinians, as all Muslims, are not violent in nature but when ones grow all his life under oppression and humiliation it could understandable the he resorts to violence as a last resort to protest injustice and degradation. To all who say Palelstinians are violent and blood-thirsty in nature, did you forget about Sabra and Shatila, about Qana, about Deir Yassin, about the lastest round of destruction the IDF exercised on Lebanon`s (and Gaza`s) civilian population and infrastructure? |
