I lived in Poland as a child and teenager.I attended the Yidish Prezt School in Lodz.
I can attest that with 2 exceptions.Horbacka History) and Jan Kupisz)polish) the rest of non jewish teachers were quite openly anti-semitic.The class teacher Pani Basinska refused to join us ono the visits of Warsaw Ghetto Monument. She told the parents committee " To nie jest moja rocznica" (This is not my anniversary).Physics teacher Urbanski (in Grade 10),would pronounce our names : Goldbergowna instead of Goldberg.(Gowna means shit)When we protested he would say "I am not familiar with your names).The director Rozenkrantz was replacing those antisemitic teachers when possible year after year.Yet the supplies never dried up.It is true that the Germans run the Ghettos and dead camps.But in MOST cases when jews managed to escape they were killed by chlopy(villagers) or polish partisans.There were exceptions like Zegota or priests.Few out of 35M.Under Kazimiiesz Wielki Jews were well. hate in 1800+ |
