By you Mr Burston, who promised us a censor a few months back. The result was arbitrary censorship that made one suspect that purely electronic means were being used to distinguish between abuse and opinion.
Since this was such a failure, how do you propose to improve on the original idea? Do you really have personnel available to wade through all the posts?
If the baby is to be thrown out with the bathwater, no censorship is preferable to aberrant censorship.
But an electronic solution to simplify wading through the garbage would be a help: something less clunky than this, like the Y-net talkback which allows you to skim through 30 posts at a time and skip the ones that are obviously abusive. |
