Gerry Adams is a passionate man. He is trying to do the right things.
But his inviting Israel to hold talks with the hamas when terror and violence are in full swing is always going to be refused.
Adamas should know this. The british eventually dealt with the IRA/SinnFein when they laid down their arms and officially renounced terror. That was a pre-condition.
Maybe he can convince haniyeh. With the precondition that hamas recognise the state of israel and its right to exist within safe borders.
Not much to ask.
So much to gain.
Because a terrorist neighbouring government committed to violence and the avowed destruction of the state of israel tends to sap confidence in the outcome of holding any talks with them.
Wouldn`t you think? |
