The law, which excludes Palestinian spouces of Israelis from receiving citizenship in Israel, is shameful and should be cancelled. The solution of demography problem should be in division of the land by ethnic borders, so that Umm el-Fahm and Sakhnin would become Palestinian towns. Of course, any Israeli, who would be willing to move within Israel after such separation, would be entitled for compensation. Another issue is much strickter implementation of building laws. Nobody can settle on state lands without permissions. Nobody can build without permission. It`s illegal practice, when young couples live in illegally built floors of father`s house. They should take mortgage and buy appartment. Also, the very concept of "Arab towns" and "Arab quarters" should be cancelled. There should be policy aimed to make all Israeli towns stlled by both Jews and Arabs. These measures would remove demographic threat, make discrimination impossible, improve life standards of Arab Israelis. |
