Dear Israelis, I don`t live amongst you. I don`t live amongst Palestinians. But Haas` article pinpoints one of the key problems many people have with the Israeli treatment of Palestine, and subsequently their reaction to the Lebanese situation.
So what? you might say. So there is a vague feeling that Hezbollah are the valiant underdogs and people sneakily support them. When the Israeli reaction leads to the inevitable civilian deaths, this support becomes more vocal.
You can choose to ignore Haas, as you can continue to kidnap Palestinian MPs, bulldoze houses, build more colonies. You have bigger guns. Who`s to stop you?
But her comments are worth considering for the future of the region. That`s your childrens` future, incidentally, not yours or mine. |
