T.A. court extends remand of parents suspected of seriously abusing babyBy Roni Singer-Heruti, Haaretz Correspondent, and Haaretz Service The Tel Aviv Magistrates Court on Friday extended the remand of two parents from the town of Or Yehuda suspected of abusing their six-week old baby and causing him serious bodily harm. On Thursday evening the parents took their baby to an area hospital, where he was rushed to the emergency room after being diagnosed with a severe hemorrhage and fractured ribs. Police arrested the parents after they were not able to explain how the baby sustained the injuries. Welfare service officials in Tel Aviv say they received past complaints against the parents for abusing another son, aged four, but the allegations were not proven. Related articles: |
