Israeli billionaire gears for reopening of pet purchase: N.Y.'s Plaza Hotel

Israeli billionaire Yitzhak Tshuva is awed the see the fruits of the fortune he has spent on the legendary Plaza Hotel since he acquired it in 2004.

The Plaza, which has served as the backdrop to countless films and books since it opened in 1907, was sold to Tshuva for 765 million dollars by a Singapore real estate firm and Saudi prince and businessman Alwaleed bin Talal.


With renovation costs, the sale will have cost the Israeli businessman, who was ranked 214th in the 2007 Forbes list of world billionaires, more than one billion dollars.
