Berlin Holocaust memorial vandalized for 15th time

By Ofer Aderet, Haaretz Correspondent

A swastika and a Nazi slogan on Friday were found to have been painted on the Holocaust memorial in Berlin.

The writing "Adolf Hitler, Heil Hitler" and a swastika were discovered by an employee of the foundation operating the memorial, on one of the 2,711 concrete slabs that make up the site, south of Brandenburg Gate.

Over the weekend, the inscription was removed and the Berlin police launched an investigation.

Since its inauguration three years ago, the memorial has been vandalized 15 times.
