Minister Majadele stable after surgery to stop bleeding on his brainBy Haaretz Service MK Raleb Majadele (Labor) is in stable condition at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem after undergoing surgery on Monday to stop bleeding on his brain. Majadele, who serves as the science, culture, and sport minister, told media outlets shortly after regaining consciousness that he "feels fine." Doctors said the bleeding was not from the minister's brain but rather an area in the back of his head outside his skull. Majadele is expected to stay under medical supervision over the coming days. Majadele began his Knesset tenure in mid-2004, and has served since as the chairman of the Knesset Internal Affairs and Environment Committee. Last October, he made waves in Israel when then-Defense Minister Amir Peretz appointed him the first ever Arab minister in the history of Israel. Related articles: |
