Israel's Sela, Levy lose to Sweden in tennis Davis Cup World GroupBy The Associated Press and Haaretz Services Israeli tennis players Dudi Sela and Heral Levy both lost Sunday in the reverse singles matches of the Davis Cup World Group first-round series between Israel and Sweden in Ramat Hasharon. Sela lost to Sweden's Thomas Johansson in three straight sets, 7-6, 6-1, 7-5, while Levy was defeated by Jonas Bjorkman in a four-set game, despite winning the first set 6-0. The two losses mean that the Israeli team will fail to make history in qualifying for the tournament's quarterfinals stage, although Saturday's doubles match ended with Israel leading over Sweden 2-1, when Andy Ram and Yoni Erlich defeated Sweden's Simon Aspelin and Robert Lindstedt. |
