AG: Ariel Sharon's son won't get special treatment in jailBy Yuval Yoaz, Haaretz Correspondent The prison conditions of former Kadima MK Omri Sharon, a son of former prime minister Ariel Sharon, will not deviate from standard prison service regulations, Attorney General Menachem Mazuz said Thursday. Contrary to claims by right-wing activists Itamar Ben-Gvir and Baruch Marzel, the Justice Ministry has not agreed to grant Omri Sharon special concessions, Mazuz said. Sharon was convicted of numerous campaign financing crimes relating to the 1999 Likud primaries. He is scheduled in two weeks to begin serving a seven-month sentence. |
