Police arrest T.A. man suspected of stabbing to death brother, 44By Roni Singer-Heruti, Haaretz Correspondent Police on Saturday evening arrested a 28-year-old man who admitted to stabbing his brother, Mordechai Yarkoni, 44, to death after an altercation at their Tel Aviv apartment. The suspect told police that during a quarrel between the two, his brother provoked him, saying, "Let's see you stab me." Close to 6:30 P.M. on Saturday, Yiftah Region Police and Magen David Adom emergency medical services received a report of a stabbing at Tayeb Yitzhak street in Tel Aviv. Upon their arrival at the scene, police found Yarkoni unconscious. Paramedic Durel Gat told Haaretz: "We attempted to resuscitate him, but without success, and in the end we pronounced him dead." The police investigation revealed that the deceased had been only stabbed once, in his heart. The deceased's brother was at the apartment when police arrived, and told them that a stranger had entered the apartment, stabbed his brother, and then fled. A short time after, the officers arrested him as a suspect in the case. Soon thereafter, he admitted to the murder. The brothers lived together in the apartment with their parents, who were not present when police arrived. The deceased's body was transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine at Abu Kabir.
