The upcoming visit of U.S. President George W. Bush to the region has sent Israel into a planning frenzy. On the other side of the Green Line, however, the Palestinians are slightly more subdued.

Bush lands in Israel on Wednesday, and is scheduled to meet with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas the following day.

In preparation, the helicopter landing pad at Abbas' Ramallah headquarters has been repainted, and roads have been repaved in an attempt to erase the memories of past Israeli bombings.

However, attempts at beautification haven't managed to positively color Palestinian public opinion ahead of the visit.
