By Haaretz Service

Four people died and thirteen were injured Tuesday in a road accident south of Rosh Ha`ayin, when a minibus driving Palestinian workers to Israel collided with two other vehicles, Israel Radio reported.

The radio reported that a truck swerved from its lane and then collided with a minibus filled with Palestinian workers en route to Israel on a road linking the West Bank to Israel. None of the Palestinians were wearing seatbelts and several were thrown from the minibus.

Four of the Palestinians were instantly killed in the accident, five people were moderately injured and the remainder were lightly hurt.

Magen David Adom Rescue Services evacuated the injured to hospitals in the area.

The truck driver, a 25-year-old from Hod Hasharon said that he crashed into the minibus because one of his tires exploded.

Police have begun investigating the cause of the accident. Israel Radio reported that the driver had 18 prior traffic violations.

In a separate road accident, a motorcyclist died on the Tel Aviv-Haifa coastal road near Netanya.
