Minor indicted for raping, murdering prostitute in Be'er ShevaBy Mijal Grinberg, Haaretz Correspondent An indictment was filed on Sunday at the Be'er Sheva District Court against a Palestinian minor accused of murdering Zoya Yegudayev, 28, in the southern city in November. Yegudayev, who worked as a prostitute, was found with stab wounds on her body in a wooded area near the university train station on November 25. The victim's cellular phone was stolen after the murder, which helped the police locate the suspect. He confessed to the act during questioning. The indictment states that the minor, who was illegally residing in Be'er Sheva, requested sexual services from Yegudayev. He said that she took from him NIS 150 and then left, promising to return. However, she reportedly didn't return, and he came back one week later intending to kill her. The indictment also says that the accused went with the prostitute to the wooded area, and demanded his money. Yehudayev allegedly began screaming, and the accused stabbed her and assaulted her until she bled to death. Yehudayev died from her wounds and the minor stole her phone, which ultimately facilitated his arrest. The indictment charges him with murder, aggravated assault, illegal residence and theft. |
