Israeli stabbed in Sharon; police suspect nationalistic motiveA farmer from the Sharon region was critically wounded on Thursday when he was stabbed by an unknown assailant in the fields near Moshav Porat. Police suspect that the assailant was an Arab man, and are investigating whether the incident was nationally motivated. The 36-year-old victim was taken to the Meir Hospital in Kfar Sava for treatment. Police say they suspect that the stabbing was nationally motivated, but have not ruled out the possibility it was criminally linked or a dispute between workers. Police have arrested a few suspects and are continuing their manhunt after the assailant. "We started to carry out an operation in the region during which a few names of possible suspects have arisen," said a Kfar Sava Police spokesman. An initial investigation of the incident revealed that the farmer's car was stolen from where it was parked near the fields and located a short time after the stabbing in the Arab Triangle region in the north. Police are looking into the posibility that the suspects used the vehicle as their getaway car. Related articles: |
