Prisons Service refuses to allow Yigal Amir to attend son's circumcisionBy Jonathan Lisis, Haaretz Correspondent The Israel Prisons Service announced Monday that it would deny the request by Yigal Amir - the assassin of prime minister Yitzhak Rabin - that he be allowed to leave prison to attend the circumcision ceremony of his expected son. Amir made the request ahead of the imminent birth of his son. His wife, Larisa Trimbobler, is in the final month of her pregnancy. The IPS also said that it would not allow Amir to hold the ceremony within Rimonim prison, were he is currently incarcerated. The an IPS spokesperson said that the final decision was made by chief of the IPS central district Nazim Zabiadi, following an extensive review of the request by the organization. IPS sources say that Amir's request was denied because he is a security prisoner. |
