Ben Haim: Odds of winning aren't great

By Yoav Borowitz

National team and Chelsea defender Tal Ben Haim doesn't give Israel great odds against England but said anything could happen. "If we played England 10 times, we could maybe draw or win once. It's going to be very hard for us at Wembley," the Sunday Times quoted him telling the British press.

The paper quite disparaged Israel in its coverage over the weekend ahead of Saturday night's match. "Depleted they may be, but England's remnants should be good enough to see off Israel at home next Saturday," surmised Sunday Times reporter Joe Lovejoy. Before losing 2-1 to Belarus last month, Israel "offered nothing but obdurate defence in drawing 0-0 with England at home in March," Lovejoy declared.
