No injuries as passenger train hits abandoned car near Be'er ShevaBy Mijal Grinberg, Haaretz Correspondent A passenger train en route from Dimona to Be'er Sheva on Wednesday struck a commercial vehicle that had been abandoned on the tracks. No one was injured in the accident, although the vehicle, which contained gas tanks and fuel, burst into flames. Police ruled out initial firefighter claims that the incident may have been an attempted terror attack, saying an initial investigation revealed that the vehicle belonged to a local Bedouin who tried to cross the tracks at a point where there is no crossing and got stuck. Firefighters removed the vehicle from underneath the train. |
