Two men killed in separate car accidents over weekend

Two motorists were killed on Friday in separate car accidents in Daliat al Carmel and Tel Aviv.

In Daliat al Carmel, 30-year-old driver Ahmed Awad was killed and a passenger seriously injured after their car crashed into an electricity pole. Police suspect Awad was speeding.

Also on Friday, Shalom Portel, 39, of Tel Aviv died when his motorcycle was hit by a car. A Magen David Adom medical staff arrived at the scene and pronounced him dead.

Over the past week, six people were killed in traffic accidents and another 10 seriously hurt. Since the beginning of the year, 195 pedestrians and motorists have been killed in traffic accidents.
