Police investigating fatal shooting of 24-year-old woman in Holon
Police found the body of a Tel Aviv woman early Sunday who had been fatally shot in the town of Holon, south of Tel Aviv.
Alexandra Sheitner, 24, was found on Hamalaha road in the industrial area of Holon. Police are checking the circumstances of the murder. They are examining the possibility that Sheitner, whom they knew from past convictions, was involved in prostitution.
Around 3 A.M. Sunday an anonymous caller informed police and Magen David Adom emergency medical services that a young woman was wounded and left lying in the area between Holon and Azor.
Police arrived at the scene and found Sheitner fatally wounded. After attempting to recuscitate her, the Magen David Adom team pronounced her dead.
Police said they originally thought the young woman had died from a head injury, and only after an autopsy Sunday morning did they realize it was actually from a gunshot wound. They are now trying to locate the anonymous caller.
