Pre-Passover surprise - April snowfall on Mount HermonBy Eli Ashkenazi, Haaretz Correspondent, and Haaretz Service In a pre-Passover surprise, an April snowfall was recorded on the Mount Hermon shi slopes on Sunday, one day before the beginning of Passover. The resort was open for skiing on Sunday. The weather forecast for the beginning of the holiday period was partly cloudy and unseasonably chilly, with a chance of light rain in the north on Sunday and Monday. On Tuesday, the day of Passover, temperatures are expected to stay low, with a chance of light rain in the center of the country. Wednesday will be warmer, and is expected to be a generally favorable day for excursions and hikes, although there may be more light rain in the north and center. |
