Six people lightly wounded in anti-fence protests in West Bank

By Haaretz Service

A Border Policeman and five protestors were lightly wounded on Friday during two protests against the West Bank separation fence which took place in Bodras and Bi'lin.

In the protest in Bodras, three people were lightly wounded when Israel Defense Forces troops fired rubber-coated bullets on a crowd of protestors who had opened one of the gates of the fence and entered a closed military zone.

During the protest in Bi'lin, a Border Policeman was lightly wounded in clashes with protestors. The village of Bi'lin, half of which lies on the Israeli side of the fence, has become a symbol of the anti-fence movement and for the last two years large protests involving hundreds of Israelis and Palestinians have taken place on a regular basis there.

In a third protest in the village of Kafin on Friday, 500 Israelis and Palestinians rallied against the separation fence without incident.
