Police suspect murder-suicide in deaths of Ashdod coupleBy Mijal Grinberg, Haaretz Correspondent A husband and wife were found lifeless in their Ashdod apartment on Monday night, in an incident police suspect was a murder-suicide. A family relative found the bodies of Aya Papiyashvili, 21, and her husband Henry, 29, with a pistol next them. The man came to their apartment after trying to call them for many hours without success. The relative entered the apartment, found the bodies and called police. Paramedics who arrived at the scene established their deaths. Henry, a former wrestler, was a businessman who had business operations in Georgia and also owned several 24-7 kiosks in Ashdod; Aya was a housewife. Their two-year-old son was staying at his grandmother's house when their bodies were found. Police launched an investigation into their deaths, although there are no initial leads or known motive for killing them. |
