Man stabs to death wife, 75, during argument at J'lem mallBy Jonathan Lis, Haaretz Correspondent A 75-year-old woman died Tuesday evening of wounds incurred earlier in the day when her husband stabbed her in the chest during an argument in a Jerusalem mall. Paramedics arrived on the scene at the Malha Mall and evacuated the woman to the Hadassah Hospital in Ein Karem. She was moderately wounded, but her condition deteriorated soon after. The woman and her 77-year-old husband were living separately, and met by chance Monday at the mall. A fight broke out between them, apparently over the division of their mutual possessions. During the argument, the man pulled a penknife from his pocket and began stabbing his wife in clear sight of passers-by. An employee of a nearby store overtook the man, with the help of mall security guards and police officers alerted to the scene. The man was then arrested. |
