IDF officer jailed for 3 years for raping woman soldier in his unit

A first lieutenant in the Israel Defense Forces was jailed for three years this week for raping a woman soldier who served in his unit.
The Southern Command military tribunal also sentenced the officer, who raped the woman while they were serving at the Erez Crossing two and a half years ago, to two years probation and told him pay his victim NIS 15,000 compensation.
"The fact that the accused commited the acts on two separate occasions some months apart shows that this was not a one-time fall but a pattern of distorted behavior," the judges wrote in their verdict.
