State Prosecutor cracks down on online backgammon gamblingBy Yuval Yoaz, Haaretz Correspondent State Prosecutor Eran Shendar has decided to outlaw Internet companies that provide online backgammon gambling services, it was revealed on Wednesday. As a result of the decision, senior police officer Yochanan Danino has issued a warrant to the online gambling company Interlogic to close down its "Play65" website. Police have also informed credit card companies that any transaction made with online gambling companies would now be considered a felony offense. Shendar made his decision based on a recommendation made last year by the finance department of the State Prosecution. |
