5 protestors, policeman, soldier hurt in protest against W. Bank fenceBy Itim Five protestors, an Israel Defense Forces soldier and a Border Police officer were injured in clashes Friday during protest against the West Bank separation fence near Bil'in. The clash began after about 60 protestors, among them Israelis, Palestinians and foreign activists, refused to adhere to the security forces' demands that they disperse. Border Police and soldiers fired rubber bullets at the protestors, who were throwing stones at the security forces. The soldier and one of the protestors sustained injuries to their faces, and one protestor suffered injuries to her stomach. The rest of the injuries were to arms and legs. All of the wounded were treated at the scene. |
