"Today we are committing to the struggle toward returning values to Israeli society. This struggle will be spearheaded by the Education Ministry," said its new head, Likud's Gideon Sa'ar.
He said that "the most significant and dangerous crisis to our future as a society and country is the crisis of principles - our rights to the land, our mission as a people and a state, Jewish tradition, the values of the Declaration of Independence, and universal and Jewish values."
Sa'ar said he was "aware of the tremendous efforts of teachers, of the difficult working conditions and the constraints." He "tips his hat to the life's mission they took upon themselves. From today we're in this together."
