Killed in Jordan Valley shooting
Policeman David Rabinovitch was 42 when he was killed in the line of duty last month near the Jordan Valley settlement of Massua. Today Rabinovitch's family will attend a Memorial Day ceremony for the first time as a bereaved family.
His mother, Ruby, said she did not want to attend, but other family members insisted that they attend the ceremony together. Rabinovitch went every other week to home in Kiryat Bialik for Friday night dinner. His mother said that she still has not taken in her son's death.
"I am still waiting for Friday, for his telephone calls, for our conversations," she said. Her son David was the second loss of a child for her. In 2002, her son Shai was murdered at the age of 28, a case that has still not been solved.
