West Bank settlements can now be tracked on your iPhone
Peace Now releases 'Facts on the Ground' application in which the settlements are marked in blue, the outposts in red, and clicking on a place name displays demographic statistics.
By Natasha Mozgovaya and Haaretz Staff Tags: iPhone Israel newsWant to know what's happening in the West Bank settlements in real time? In addition to 'Sudoku' and 'Street Fighter,' iPhone owners will now be able to install the "Facts on the Ground" application, which monitors the expansion of settlements in Judea and Samaria, created by Americans for Peace Now.
“This new app shows the unfiltered realities that settlements create on the ground of the West Bank. While people are entitled to their opinions on this divisive issue, there is only one set of facts, and our app makes these facts available in unprecedented clarity and detail,” said Debra DeLee, APN’s President and CEO.

Settlements are symbolized by little blue houses on the map. Clicking once on the icon gives its land area. A second click brings up a window with more details: the year it was established, population, ideology (or lack of), character (secular or religious), amount of 'private Palestinian land' it occupies, and a graph that tracks its population growth.
iPhone users can also zoom in on outposts marked in red. The map includes the route of the Green Line, Jerusalem's municipal boundaries, and the various zones under different security arrangements, Area A and Area B.
“One of the things that make this tool so powerful is that it democratizes data,” DeLee said. “In the past, not many were able to tour the settlements with an expert guide. With the introduction of our app, anyone can explore the West Bank with just a click of a mouse or a touch of a finger.”
APN intends to update the map regularly with new information, including the establishment of outposts and their dismantlement, and violent incidents on the part of Palestinians and settlers. Their intention is to turn the app into a "comprehensive real-time view of what is happening on the ground in the West Bank."
The application is currently only available in English for the iPhone and iPad, and for a desktop or laptop web browser, but Americans for Peace Now has said that a Hebrew version of the mobile phone app is under production, and that they are in the process of porting it to the Android operating system.
The application can be downloaded here.

of all goods produced in these colonies on occupied territory. It will now help us pin point them to make sure their goods are boycotted and not allowed into US or EU markets.

Presumably this app will be democratic and trace all illegal building in Israel, including that of Arabs building on State and private land, or is the foreign sponsor of this initiative an anti-Jewish racist?
I wish there were so many more
IPhone carries a hefty price tag ,but nothing is too expensive for Kfar Smaryahu elite.
Why would there be a problem if these "settlers" become future Palestinians, are they not going to have equal rights like the Arab Israelis? WHy should a future Palestine be Jew Free if Israel cannot be Arab Free.
Occupied by the arabs in case you don't know
What color are the Palestinian terrorists? Any apps for tracking incoming rockets?
nothing left for a viable palestinian state. The freeze at last must be extented until borders-agreement.
No peace can be reached by negociation with these facts
Having this extraordinary information at our fingertips makes advocating for a continuation of the settlement freeze that much easier! Thanks APN!
please go to live in gaza. see how long you live
are they cancer cells?
Settlements impact peace, but the settlers keep hiding their construction. I hope this new transparency will mean that making peace will be easier.
in a series of layers between 1948 and 1967, as Jordan killed and drove out all Jews. And from that time forward, as Jews returned. All the Leftist NGOs present their narrative from the fiction that there was a place called Palestine, and IDF drove out Jordan on behalf of the Arabs. So sad for people that are trying to understand history.
Cheer up Jasper. Go to this site; they have all the information (and maps) you need to understand the history of the West bank. http://www.palestineremembered.com/index.html
When the British cabinet decision to support the foundation of a Jewish homeland in the Palestinian mandate the decision was made because of anti-semitism rather than a strive for a Jewish homeland. They did it because they didn't want Jews in their country. Much like how the United States and every other country in the world didn't want to take on Jewish refugees after WW2. Instead, the dumped the entire problem off on the Arab states, and armed the Jewish side to the teeth. That's why we're in the situation we're in. Don't go an rewrite history to support and further your bias.
would be to show the entire land changing from 1900 till our present time (it's out there online you can google it yourself).
