The Israeli film "Footnote" was shortlisted along with eight other films on Wednesday for consideration in the foreign-language category at the Academy Awards.
Joseph Cedar's Footnote is nominated along with the Iranian film "A Separation," Germany's "Pina," Belgium's "Bullhead," Canada's "Monsieur Lazhar," Denmark's "Superclasico," Morocco's "Omar Killed Me," Poland's "In Darkness" and Taiwan's "Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale."
Oscar nominations will be announced Tuesday, with the ceremony set for Feb.

Israeli films have been nominated for the foreign-language category at the Oscars for three years in a row with "Beaufort", "Waltz with Bashir," and "Ajami."
In September, "Footnote" won prizes at the Ophir Awards, dubbed the "Israeli Oscars", for best film, best director, best screenplay, and best actor and supporting actor.
