Series to be screened at the French TV Festival in Tel Aviv reveal France's unwillingness to pander to international - and particularly U.S. - audiences.

In recent years, Hollywood has been remaking television series from various countries - but France is not one of them. Watching some of the shows to be screened at the French TV Festival, which starts on Saturday at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque, makes it clear why there is very little traffic from France to the United States and from there to the rest of the world.
