What now? A ban on taking iPads out of Israel?
Israeli Airports Authority confiscate iPad leaving country claiming the gadget needs to be inspected.
In April, Israel lifted the ban on bringing Apple iPads into the country through Ben-Gurion International Airport. Now there appears to be a ban on taking the tablet computers out of the country.
Atlanta resident Michael Hamelin, who is chief of computer security for the Israeli hi-tech firm Tufin Technologies, was told on his way out of Israel last Thursday that he couldn't take his iPad, which he brought with him to Israel, back to the U.S. He says airport security personnel told him the device would have to be inspected and that would take a few days.
His iPad was reportedly returned to him in Atlanta by messenger. The Airports Authority did not respond to a request for comment.
