The ranks of Israel's working poor are growing
More Haredim and Arabs are in the labor force, but they are supporting big families on low wages.
In 2011, 24.8% of Israelis were defined as poor. This figure, slightly above the one for 2010, makes Israel a world leader in poverty. Among developed countries, only Mexico fares worse.
