Pelephone is keeping its best price plan under wraps, offering its NIS 99 monthly package only to its heaviest users.

TheMarker has learned that about two weeks ago the cell phone company began offering an option called Bingo Plus Extra, which gives customers 1,500 minutes of talk time, 1,500 text messages and a gigabyte of Internet access, all for NIS 99 per month.

Until now Pelephone has been offering customers who make heavy use of their cell phone service the option of unlimited service, including 2 gigabytes of Internet access, for NIS 139 a month. Most individual consumers use much less than 1,500 minutes of air time and less than a gigabyte of web access, so the NIS 99 package would save them money if it were offered to them.

Natan Lerer of Bsimple, which specializes in lowering businesses' communications costs, said Pelephone's Bingo Plus Extra plan is directed at "high value" customers, as measured in part by their usage patterns. Lerer adds, however, that customers who have made it clear to Pelephone customer service representatives that they are heavy users but do not require the unlimited use plan, have managed to sign up for the NIS 99 Bingo Plus Extra option.
