Israel's hotel association asks for thousands of more workers

Why is it that Israel finds it so difficult to find local people to fill these jobs? This doesn't seem to be a problem in many much wealthier Western countries. Are there really not enough unemployed Israelis, new immigrants and others available to work in these positions. Is it really so terrible being a pool attendant, bar tender, housekeeper or a cleaner in a 5-Star resort that there are no Israelis willing to do the job? If the government would insist that these people must be paid at least the minimum wage, I'm sure that many Israelis would be happy to fill these jobs.

  Global situation in Hotels

  I bet if you were able to get the numbers of illegals working in major tourist Hotels around the Western World - the numbers would be very high. This isn't so much a case of Israel vs. the World - but rather something that is visible in all major Western hotel industries. Especially when the employment is seasonal.

  your country faces the same problem as do most european countries. and you surely know that many of people working in a hotel are employed illegaly or are seasonla workers. and enough locals do the job of housekeeper, cleaner or bar tender. however, they do not suffice since israels tourism is growing rapidly.
