But other companies are hiring, and the balance seems to favor of companies adding staff.
A dark cloud hovered over Israel's high-tech industry this week after a flurry of dismissals by foreign and local companies.
Over just a few days about 500 engineers and developers lost their jobs. Their employers included some of the biggest and brightest names of Israeli high tech, including ECI Telecom, Better Place, Freescale Semiconductor, Orbotech and Ceragon Networks.
