El Al to juggle crew schedules to allow all staff to vote
Unlike Israel's diplomats and seamen who have been granted special arrangements to vote in Knesset elections from abroad, airline employees must be present in the country during polling hours to cast their ballots.
El Al Israel Airlines management has acceded to a request from the National Pilots Association and will perform what it calls "an organizational adjustment" in assigning flight crews working on election day, January 22. Crews will consequently have their planned overseas layovers shortened and will set out for just one day instead of two to enable them to return to Israel in time to vote.
