Web-service Pelezol can choose cheap cell-phone packages for you

NIS 3,600 a year - that's what an average family could save on its cell-phone bills by employing a new service meant to help customers identify the best communications package for them, according to the entrepreneurs behind Pelezol (www.pelezol.co.il), who include Major Generals (Res.) Yom Tov Samia and Giora Eiland.

A review conducted by the company shows that more than 75% of private consumers could cut an average of 37% from their monthly cellular costs, in most cases without transferring to a different operator.
 

To use the service, which costs NIS 57, a customer must be registered on the website of the cellular company he currently subscribes to.

The client then gives Pelezol his user name, enabling the company to collect data on usage and payment.

Based on that, Pelezol recommends to the client the four most appropriate subscription packages available (which could include the one currently used), and creates simulated bills for each of them.

For an additional NIS 57, Pelezol will also handle the transfer of the subscription to the preferred package or company. Pelezol guarantees a refund in the event that monthly bills do not decrease, assuming of course that there has been no change in the customer's typical usage profile.

One shortcoming of the service: Pelezol's calculations do not take into consideration the cost of defaulting on the existing package contract, which can result in penalties amounting to thousands of shekels
