HP to complete Mercury acquisition within days
Stockholders agreed to sell 96% of the company's shares; deal values Mercury at $4.5 billion
By ReutersPC-maker Hewlett-Packard Co. on Thursday said it had completed a tender offer for Israel's Mercury Interactive Corp. with about 85.7 million shares or 96% received and accepted.
HP said it expected to complete its roughly $4.5 billion acquisition of Mercury through a merger with an HP subsidiary in the next few days. After the merger, Mercury stock will be delisted.
The deal aims to expand HP's business software operations.
