But new regulations making it easier to move accounts may finally give them the edge they need.
For years now Israel's banks and brokerages have been locked in a fierce battle for institutional customers, playing havoc with market shares and sharply decreasing revenues per transaction. But such competition has bypassed retail investors, who continue to pay their banks commissions and fees bordering on extortion.
