Once bitten twice shy, twice bitten thrice shy and you are presumed to be a fool if you fall for the same trick for a third time - but hope springs eternal, to quote another adage, and the presidential elections in Egypt are resuscitating the consistently thwarted wish for encouraging news from the Middle East.
