I live in Israel, and I’m happy to see it improve its international image as much as anyone else. I also happen to enjoy excellent films, including great Woody Allen movies. Like much of my 40-something generation, classics like Annie Hall and Manhattan were huge cultural influences on me, and I have seen them over and over. About #2, let's remember that not every single human being goes to Israel. The idea of pilgrimage among Jews started, I read, one thousand years ago, imported from Muslim culture, but it was not fully incorporated in our culture. My father never thought of going to Israel, my mother went once and it was enough for her. My grandmother went to Europe whenever she could, but never to Israel. I know that Israelis think that they are the center of the world, and maybe they are right, but not everybody agrees with that... About the film, it might be advantageous - or not - for the country and the filmaker, but it's not an ethical issue...
thank you
