every article which appears in israeli newspapers relative to irans arms developments always carry the rider, they exaggerate their ability, i assume the arrogance will be toned down following the performance of their drone, shot down over dimona, and their missiles in the recent conflict. take them very seriously otherwise israel will pay a heavy price

Facts: Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem were hit, Rockets kept pounding Israeli settlements until last moment, Border crossings will be opened, Israel had not guts to do a ground attack, Cornet hit tanks, Palestinian public by far better withstanding attacks than Israelis, Israelis looked terrible running for cover including leaders from by far less effective bombings, while Palestinians defying very powerful bombing attacks, Israeli leaders looked like cowards while Palestinian leaders looked more like Heroes at least in the eyes of their people. This is a very sad day for Israelis cause they no longer own the power they always had, its not only the powerful and advanced weapons you own but its who leads , fights, and the public behind you that really counts these days. Its true that the Palestinians cry for there lost ones but they are happy for them cause they are martyrs and that's why they happily celebrate while Israelis are very spoiled brats they cannot understand this and they are very very sad. The only thing that Israel might gain is break from falling rockets and some quiet period.

Both Israel and the Gazans have an interest in peace. Israel to live normally, and Palestine in order to develop economically and become a normal country. If this agreement pushes us in that direction it is a victory for both. If ultimately we move closer towards a peace it is a defeat for what Hamas stands for. It is also an impressive signal from Egypt that the Muslim brotherhood can be influential and responsible - unlike the current Turkish government.

Does it actually need to be about who won? Both sides have realised that the death and destruction was folly and they have quite graciously admitted this. Sure, there are now mass arrests in the West Bank, destruction of Gazan civilian infrastructure but hey both sides are relived it's over. What i would say is that some serious questions would need to be asked in the future:- Can either side get away with murder next time around? Will Israel, in an attempt to make long term peace gestures, simply give the land back and remove settlers (root cause!) or will they still live by 'might is right'? Will the PA be recognised at the UN (and the ICC) next week? Will Hamas reinstate democratic elections and let the public decide who should be in charge? Time will tell.

It doesn't matter who won or lost. It's peace what's counts.

Hamas won the moral stand this time and prevented an invasion of the territory that its holding hostage. The Gaza strip is paying a heavy price in the name of Muslim fanaticism. Israel lost the opertunity to clean Gaza and is willing to leave the status co as is. And the ultimate looser is Abbas. He needs to leave office. He has failled his people and has become irrelevant to the scene.

Nobody wins; if people are still opressed, occupied and subjected to having their children murdered,government officials assassinated, land and homes stolen from them. As long as this situation exists, where people aren't free the entire thing will happen again. Israel will again have to deal with people wanting their freedom. Hamas will regroup, rearm with more deadly accurate wepons to rain down on Israel in a rebilion for freedom. Israel has the key to the door: All they have to do is open it and wlk in. Making peace with the Pals. and giving them a state will reduce the threat. Attacking Hamas because Abbas is going to ask for an upgrade was a very crude move. Doing whatever it takes to discredit the move of the Pals right to approach the U/N is as transparent as glass. But without the poor poor pitiful me card Israel has nothing left in the deck to play with. Except violance and murder.

The cease fire will last long enough for Hamas to resupply and regroup and one of its many heads to start launching rockets again while Hamas says they're abiding by the cease fire agreement. Israel will be forced to take military action again and Hamas will blame Israel for breaking the cease fire. Everyone cries "peace, peace," but there is no peace.

Yeah, but what if tomorrow these lunatics shoot off another missile? Or two? Or more? How many do we tolerate before reacting? What happens if Hamas denies it and blames the other barbarians operating there? What happens if it comes from Sinai?
