"A major factor is the 'free trade zone' under the border at Rafah – the 1,200 tunnels connecting Egypt and Gaza through supplies, gasoline for example, is provided at a ridiculous price." This sentence makes no sense in more ways than its grotesquely agrammatical construction. Is this "ridiculous price" a market price? Or do you allege that someone is subsidizing the gasoline to artificially deflate its price? What exactly are you stating? "PA continues to pay the salaries of some 60 to 70 thousand of its employees who reside in Gaza and now get paid for doing nothing." So who told them to do nothing? Surely it isn't fair to fault workers for following the instructions of their employer, however idiotic, nor reasonable to bewail the economic hardship of an employer stupid enough to order productive workers home at full pay.

that's the underlying concern for the average Palestinian, the ability to provide for their families through the consumptions of goods, eg. food, fuel, necessities. The politics is always secondary. Most people think PM Fayyad has done a considerably splendid job given the burdens and constraints applied unto the region pending a peace agreement with Israel.

Some Jews must be really flabbergasted - they always thought that the only thing Arabs can think of is killing Jews.
