The Palestinian uprising was written on Hollywood's red carpet

The five cameras documentary really enlightened me about this unsustainable situation we have.

Barak Ravid has a point, and for that his article is a winner. It is not possible to argue wit that. By the other hand, when are we going to have israeli films showing the other side of the road? Which one? The side of the adequate deeds of this society that has managed to produce, in less than a century, not only a democracy in its full blossom, unparalelled conquers in so many cientific and entrepreneurials, health and educational realms? It is about time israelis value also their milestone conquers. And, come on, show them in Hollywood too!

But believe it woke us up to the real occupation: The Arab occupation of Eretz Yisrael. Time to end it.

North Americans watched every minute of the Oscars last night. NOBODY mentioned any arab movie -- not even ONCE. Whatever was produced probably wasn't even viewed by the judges! It was all just a politically correct PR action by the hard-left-of-center liberals, throwing a token bone to the dogs to keep them quiet! That's just not enough credit to take to the bank!

If either movie had won as Oscar, it would have been a PR disaster for Israel. Despite all the claims that "Hollywood" is anti-Israel, we are lucky that the two movies split the vote and neither won.

But they achieved removing the veil from Israel and it's hideous actions against Pa;estinians. Now Israel is naked before the World and it is not a good look. I'd say the movies achieved great success and guaranteed audiences will spread the truth about Israel much to Israels embarassment.

They're such saints they send their lackeys to Haaretz forums to cry

Not really. I can imagine the pressure from Washington on the selection process to avoid favoring either documentary. After all Obama is scheduled to visit Israel next month. His responsibility to Israel is to maintain the status quo of the occupation---hasn't this been U.S. policy since 1967? The Israeli documentaries are a very strong factual statement highlighting to the Israeli public and to the world what Israel has become.

The gentiles of Hollywood and even some of its major players who are Jewish have had it with Israel's good cop-bad cop routine. IDF and Mossad operations pummel the Palestinians into submission while Israeli film makers create a sympathetic portrait that depicts their suffering at the name of Zionism. The claim by the filmmakers to not being part of the dynamic of oppression is as worthy as propaganda films made Reichminister Goebbels for the Third Reich.
